SUMMARY

The Financial Planning and Analysis manager (FP&A manager) will provide senior management with financial planning – latest estimate forecasts, the annual budget, long-range plan, and period forecasts. They provide decision support to the organization with financial analysis, special projects and internal consulting. Additionally, they develop and deliver managerial reporting and facilitate financial reviews. Reporting may include variance reporting, budget reporting by cost center, margin by segment, and revenue or expense allocations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Financial Planning:

  • Produce the annual budget, support development of the long-range plan, and LE forecast updates. Provide information and process guidelines and successfully influence other mangers to deliver budget and planning requirements on schedule.
  • Develop and manage financial models to project short- and long-term balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow. Build volume and revenue plans and forecasts by item and sales channel using CPM analytics software.
  • Model and analyze cash flow in current and future years to project debt service and cash distributions. Propose strategies that minimize interest expense and bank fees. Incorporate cash forecast reporting with cash management.
  • Prepare and publish debt covenant forecasts quarterly. Evaluate proposed business activity for effect on bank debt covenants and other contractual requirements.
  • Analyze foreign currency exposure and support risk mitigation processes.

Managerial Reporting:

  • Refine reporting within current systems and with new applications. Prepare monthly financial updates and facilitate financial reviews across departments. Constructively collaborate and inquire on business conditions, variances and future risks and opportunities.
  • Support development of additional finance metrics and KPO’s for departments and functions; support development of dashboards and reporting.
  • Promote system and procedural changes and efficiencies to provide for continuous improvement of departmental functions and information.
  • Review and approve reports, reconciliations, schedules, analysis and other data as necessary to ensure accuracy of financial information.

Decision Support:

  • Provide financial analysis on specific company initiatives. Be the internal finance consultant to senior management supporting sound financial decisions. Can include analysis of historical financials, variance reporting, risks and opportunities to current plan and key performance indicators.
  • Perform analyses and projects at the request of the Chief Executive Officer and/or Chief Financial Officer. Prepare board-level presentations summarizing findings.
  • Provide back-up to Accounting Manager as needed, related to accounting operations which may include areas in accounts payable, accounts receivable and staff development.

Position Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

Minimum five (5) years accounting and/or financial analyst experience, wine industry experience preferred. College degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent education preferred.

Skills

Ability to work quickly and accurately; anticipate, identify and prevent potential problems. Must have excellent customer service skills, excellent organizational and data presentation skills, attention to detail and an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Power BI, and MS Dynamics Business Central; Ten key by touch; proficiency with general office equipment (ex. scanners, copiers, printers); ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines; have the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with clients, vendors, coworkers, and all levels of management. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
