Description

This position will assist in the administration and coordination of the companies Safety, Quality, and Training department.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Updates and completes applicable safety paperwork and logs
  • Tracks and schedules employee safety meetings and committee attendance
  • Advises in the administration of the worker’s compensation program
  • Working knowledge of claims process (workers comp, auto, property, and liability)
  • Maintains injury records and OSHA 300 logs by the company for annual posting and other reporting
  • Possess strong organization and communication skills
  • Ensures compliance with government rules, regulations, and files paperwork pertaining as needed
  • Receives and assist in the recording of all accident reports
  • Respond to safety concerns and communicate in a timely manner
  • Maintains current knowledge of safety regulations
  • Follows and promotes all safety procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong experience and knowledge of standard office software such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Be self-motivated and work proactively to stay on top of the workload and meet deadlines
  • Be a strong team player and possess a positive attitude towards new tasks and changes
  • Provide guidance and support to management on safety issues. Work closely with all levels of employees to establish, maintain and improve safety programs/culture
  • Assists with tracking and compliance for JJ Keller and DOT compliance of new and existing hires
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

 

Career Progression-Safety Specialist

  • 3-5 years in a Safety coordinator position
  • Completion of Track LMT program
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • 3-5 years vendor relations and contract management
  • Train and demonstrate the ability to manage all Safety software and applications

 

Job Qualifications/Experience

  • 1-3 yrs. administrative experience
  • 1-3 yrs. Construction experience
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED

 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
