Summary/Objective:

The Information Technology (IT)System Administrator will support Wakely users and help maintain the information technology infrastructure for Wakely’s local data centers and associated remote offices.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist Wakely employees, contractors, and clients with technology issues
  • Maintain servers and server storage, including Microsoft Windows Server OS and VMware vSphere hypervisor; includes installation, configuration, security, and maintenance
  • Maintain application servers, including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office 365 email and SharePoint systems
  • Maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless, and related devices
  • Assist other system administrators and managers in designing, implementing, and updating server/storage architecture, Disaster Recovery/Business continuity plans, and security measures
  • Assist IT Manager in securing Wakely’s technology infrastructure, including secure configuration, mitigation of found vulnerabilities, and completion of client security documentation
  • Performance of internal security compliance processes and change management
  • Assist in facilities management as it pertains to IT infrastructure, new builds, relocations, and shared office space
  • Help train employees and IT staff in technology and security related topics
  • Other duties as requested or assigned

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server 2012+, and VMware vSphere or similar hypervisor
  • Experience with business-class network firewalls and switches
  • Experience in securing workstations, servers, networks, and firewall/edge systems, including protected data
  • Experience supporting a remote workforce
  • Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or similar industry recognized certification  
  • Experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls
  • Experience with SQL Server 2012+
  • Experience with HIPAA, SOC2, or HITRUST compliance frameworks
  • Bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer information systems, computer science, or software engineering

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Schedule:

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am through 5:00pm. Approximately 40 hours per week.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands:

This would require the ability to lift equipment, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.  Should be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Travel:

This position requires less than 10% travel.
