Clinical Supervisor 

About the Organization Founded in 1996 by parents who sought the very best treatment available to deliver opportunities to children and adolescents living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) provides therapeutic services for children ages 18 months to 21 years who have ASD.



MAC's services are center-based and in-home, and include speech and occupational therapy, assessment and diagnosis services, and individual and family therapy. At any given time, MAC serves approximately 370-400 clients throughout Minnesota at 17 centers located in Eagan, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Fridley, Vadnais Heights, Minnetonka, Woodbury, Duluth, Virginia, Mankato, Rochester, Red Wing, New Ulm, Medford, Hutchinson and Cambridge.



 
Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary function of the Clinical Supervisor is to provideprofessional services to a caseload of children affected by ASD who arereceiving therapeutic services. The Clinical Supervisor works as a team memberin the delivery of services and as a promoter of MAC services and expansions.The Clinical Supervisor works within a team of professionals to design,deliver, evaluate and report on the services being provided to MAC clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ClinicalSupervisor will have licensure in the State of MN (LMFT, LICSW, LP, or LPCC)upon beginning employment or obtain licensure within the timelines specified inthe individual employment agreement.

.The ClinicalSupervisor must be knowledgeable of professional and ethical clinical standardsregarding the delivery of professional mental health services in general, andbehavior therapy services in particular.

Behavioral,functional and psychometric evaluation skills are necessary (as well asinterest in research).

The ClinicalSupervisor must be effective working within a team structure and havedemonstrable effective verbal and written communication skills.

The Clinical Supervisor must possess a valid drivers license,automobile insurance, and have use of an automobile to travel to worksites andoffice.

The Clinical Supervisor must pass all criminal background checks asrequired by the State of Minnesota to be eligible to work with children andvulnerable adults.

The Clinical Supervisor must be proficient in the use of MS Office(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledgeand experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders andtheir families is highly desired.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exerciseindependent business judgment and decisions making in the area of allIndividual Treatment Plans.

Supportclinical team in supervising the staff in the delivery of effective services.

Providingleadership in the responsibilities of a professional in accordance with theprovisions of effective clinical practice, and the guidelines delineated bythird party payers.

Manageall prior authorization requests for services. Complete all necessary paperworkassociated with authorizations, including but not limited to, appeals, reports,hearings, and court appearances.

Meetwith families/caregivers and community members and support MACs mission andthe methodologies of ABA treatment.

Meetwith assigned Program Managers and Lead Therapists at least once a month toreview graphs (additional time per month may be required for new LeadTherapists) and to discuss clients progress.

Assistin providing guidance for challenging behaviors and the design of effectiveantecedent and contingency based interventions.

Provideleadership in training, instruction and demonstration as necessary.

Attendand present at clinical and interdisciplinary meetings as requested, necessaryand appropriate.

Developand document with case notes all professional contacts regarding their caseloadon a timely basis.

Maintainconfidentiality of the children and families/caregivers served by MAC accordingto professional ethical standards, state and federal rules and regulations andMACs internal policy and procedures.

Reviewall progress notes and client data.

Conductassessments and parent/guardian feedbacks.

Completeface-to-face observations with clients every 90 days or as needed.

PromoteMAC programming and expansions.

EmbraceMACs goal of helping families and children affected by autism, regardless ofage, severity, or need.

Miscellaneousduties as requested by the Vice President of Clinical Services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee willwork at assigned location which is subject to change as needed.

Ability to sit,walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

May be calledupon to assist in clients personal hygiene and/or personal care needs ofstudents such as dressing, feeding and toileting.

May be calledupon to assist with challenging behaviors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge andexperience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and theirfamilies is highly desired.
