JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Communications is responsible for managing and directing VinFast US internal and external communications, supervising the public relations staff, creating communication strategies, and serving as the key spokesperson and media contact for the organization in Northern California.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure the organization maintains a positive image by overseeing and approving any company information or announcements before they're released to the public
  • Trusted advisor developing effective communication strategies, procedures, and policies for various situations
  • Strategic thought partner creating messaging framework for media strategy, technology, media planning, and investor relations
  • Establish and nurture media outlet relationships and manage press opportunities through to completion
  • Lead crisis management developing proactive and reactive communication strategies
  • Implement the tasks and assignments of the Corporate Communications Department in the US market
  • Establish relationships and expand the network including the public media, KOLs, experts and individuals who influence public opinion
  • Manage on-site communication activities, including the reception/response to the press; organize talks and meetings to connect VinFast with the media influencers; Accompany VinFast leadership to influential events or media participation
  • Analyze/evaluate market trends and policies affecting the operations of VinFast in particular and Vingroup in general in the US to make appropriate proposals/opinions on communication, provide warnings/forecasts any communication risks
  • Manage the production of media content/images, official announcements/speeches of VinFast in the US
  • Coordinate with VinFast Global team to develop campaigns, media content and proposals to the Corporate Communications Department
  • Coordinate with VinFast US Market team to organize influential events on communication and image promotio
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, English, or a related field
  • 9+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing role
  • Exceptional leader with professional communication and written skills
  • Proven track record working under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects at a time, with strong problem solving skills, operating in a fast pace environment
  • Expertise in marketing and public relations campaigns
  • Experience working with and managing agency partners (public relations and investor relations)
  • Experience working with digital platforms, web and mobile
  • Automotive industry or EV industry experience preferred
