Assistant Director, Facilities Operations 

Description

Assure that TTC facilities are properly operated in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with regulatory codes, while proactively assessing TTC’s changing requirements and planning for long-term facilities issues in order to provide a world-class working/learning environment.

Essential Functions

  1. Customarily and regularly manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of TTC, including: directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination actions, and hiring as appropriate.
  2. Define the scope of projects and develops the specifications with TTC staff members, vendors, and TTC Administration to establish clear project objectives that will reduce delays or down-time due to gaps or overlaps in project scope and accountabilities of involved parties.
  3. Provide periodic updates of facilities status to staff & administration to include current status, pending issues, and over viewing work to assure the facilities are operated and maintained appropriately.
  4. Perform project management responsibilities that include scheduling work and resources effectively, assuring proper documentation and reports are created and/or maintained, regulatory compliance, and physical inspection of work site to assure that project objectives are met.
  5. Conduct periodic project status reviews with TTC administrative management and committees; to review that the progress of the project is meeting operational, schedule and safety needs.
  6. Create reliable forecasts of TTC facility needs and/or requirements and assist in the preparation of budget requirements for maintaining a safe, well-maintained learning environment for all TTC locations.
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in facility maintenance or a construction environment requiring extensive participation in competitive bidding, multi-tasking, and successful management of a diverse group of people with varying educational backgrounds is required.
  • Project management, cost estimation and financial budgeting skills.
  • Construction management, occupational safety and health/environmental engineering knowledge.
  • Familiarity with architectural and engineering discipline.
  • Bilingual is a plus

Shift Days  
Education Associates, Bachelors, or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Facility Management or related field, or equivalent experience.  
Salary Schedule SPMS  
Hiring Range Dependent on experience and education, plus additional $6,900 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
