Description

Real Estate Closing Coordinator performs a wide variety of tasks directly related to the acquisition and financial closing of complex real estate development projects that generally involve tax credit financing and primarily provide affordable housing. This position is characterized by a high degree of accountability and ability to work congenially with a wide variety of colleagues, clients, financing partners, and governmental entities.

  • Assists attorneys in preparation for, and completion of, real estate closings.
  • Manages the circulation and assembly of project related documents.
  • Works closely with attorneys to track and organize project information, project deadlines, and transaction tasks throughout the development process.
  • Works with vendors to order and analyze searches and governmental certificates.
  • Prepares closing transcripts and follows up on post-closing matters.
  • Performs internal and external database tracking and general reporting.
  • Researches and analyzes various financing requirements and industry trends related to real estate development and generally stays informed about public policy affecting real estate finance and affordable housing.
 
Position Requirements
  • Education – Bachelor’s or Professional degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Business, Urban Planning, or other fields with an emphasis on real estate development or finance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an interest in learning about the finance and development of affordable housing.
  • Skill with interpersonal relationships and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and outside contacts.
