Senior Business Development Manager 

Description

PURPOSE

Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for targeting and closing new customers, building customer relationships and driving new business by leveraging all of USAT services. This individual will act as a business consultant to establish credibility with prospects and present logical economically beneficial solutions.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Generate new business via direct sales; prospecting and following up on leads.
  • Book of Business is over $5M
  • Manage customer interactions including fostering relationships, making customer calls and closing new business.
  • Participate in face-to-face client meeting independently. Partner with account managers, regional managers and other branches.
  • Able to help train, develop and mentor BDM’s
  • Collaborate with VP to ensure alignment with division strategies in forecasting, business planning and pipeline development.
  • Have continuous engagement with customers to maintain close relationships and ensure ongoing success with accounts.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of Transportation sales experience
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of the transportation industry and familiarity with industry leaders and competitors.

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
