Share Email Opening Title Child/Adolescent Brief Counselor  Category Counselor - Masters level   Description CMCSB is seeking three Child/Adolescent Brief School Based Licensed Preferred Counselors with one position located in Buchanan County, one in Russell County and one in Tazewell County. Brief counselors will identify and intervene early with student situations identifying individuals that are at risk of, or are experiencing a Serious Emotional Disturbance. The positions will be supervised by CMCSB and will be guided through a team approach in partnership with the public-school system in each county. Positions will provide early screenings for mental health and substance misuse disorders and suicide. Services include Same Day Access for Comprehensive Needs Assessment, Brief Intervention onsite at school or via telehealth or Referral to existing School Based Case Management Services, Emergency Services Evaluation, Crisis Stabilization, or Mobile Crisis Services. The School Based Brief Counselors may also provide Care and Transition Services in collaboration with school staff and School Based Case Managers to access other CSB or CSA services.   Position Requirements Master's degree in a human services field and licensed in the State of Virginia as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred or master's degree in a human services field and license-eligible in the state of Virginia required. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
