Staff Accountant 

Description

Core Responsibilities:

The staff accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes. You will also be assisting the accounting manager as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

To be successful as staff accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding staff accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  2. 4+ years of Accounting experience.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Working knowledge of GAAP.
  5. Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  6. Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  7. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Should be able to consistently lift 15 lbs.

Travel:

This position requires less than 10% travel.
