Healthcare SAS Programmer (Senior Data Analyst) 



We are looking for an individual that has extensive SAS programming skills to join our Data Science team. Positions are available in Denver, CO and Tampa, FL. 

Core Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Healthcare Data Manager, the Healthcare SAS Programmer will be charged with querying and disseminating large data sets in both SAS and SQL Server. This role will be in direct support of consultants across the firm and will have exposure to many kinds of interesting analyses.


  1. Understand complex data sets and interpret data dictionaries to fully leverage data resources.
  2. Communicate complex queries and work with teams to understand what they need from data resources.
  3. Develop methods to query resources effectively and efficiently.
  4. Prepare and conduct presentations on findings as a result of analysis
  5. Integrate information from multiple sources
  6. Make recommendations for future analysis
  7. Demonstrate ability to work independently
  8. Experience working with healthcare data; experience working with healthcare claims data would be a significant plus.
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:


  1. 3+ years of experience working with SAS and SQL
  2. Master’s Degree or BA/BS with 3+ years of analytical work experience
  3. Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet applications, project management and statistical software packages
  4. Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  5. Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  6. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Should be able to consistently lift 15 lbs.


This position requires less than 10% travel.
