Share Email Opening Title Driver  Location Ambrosio Guillen State Texas Veterans Home   Position Driver   Description Purpose   To provide for safe, comfortable and timely transportation of residents to and from the facility.   Essential Functions   Provide transportation of passengers, supplies and equipment as requested Safe and timely transportation of residents on both a scheduled and as needed basis. Responsible for pick-up and delivery of supplies, equipment and material as required. Assures that vehicle is fully fueled and ready to drive; reports mechanical problems to appropriate source for repairs. Maintains required transportation logs, records and reports. Observes residents for any change in condition and reports same to supervisor. Ability to observe residents’ conditions and respond and communicate with residents and staff. Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with residents, staff and public. Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed or called. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs, etc., as scheduled or directed. Perform other related assignments as related.     Position Requirements Qualifications High school education or equivalent.
