2nd Shift Maintenance Technician 



  1. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs production machinery.

    1. Troubleshoots and repairs defective machines.

    2. Installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using proper measuring instruments and tools.

  2. Maintains and repairs building equipment and physical structures, including electrical systems.

    1. Troubleshoots and installs or repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery.

    2. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

    3. Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility.

  3. Assist Operators in startups of production machinery.

    1. Facilitate startups by repairing or replacing defective machinery and equipment in a timely manor.

  4. Use hand tools, power tools, welders, hoists, forklifts, and measuring and testing instruments to repair or fabricate components for repairs, modifications or installations.

  5. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment

    1. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, oil and grease guns.

  6. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.

Position Requirements

Education, Training& Experience:

  1. Associates degree in an appropriate technical field of study.

  2. Minimum three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food-processing environment.

  3. Must meet the Nu-Pak, Incorporated Job Description requirements.

  4. Familiarity with regulatory and applicable legal issues pertaining to food products.

  5. Experience with new product development processes common in the food industry.

  6. Familiarity with HACCP procedures.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  1. Read and understand blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings
  2. PLC programming experience
  3. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Must be able to schedule and conduct both technical and general audience meetings.
  5. Must be able to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Physical Activities:Seeing, fingering, grasping, reaching, touching, feeling, hearing.

  • Level of Physical Requirements:Medium work level, lifting and positioning weight loads to 75 pounds.

  • Level of Visual Acuity:Clerical.

  • Environmental Conditions:Environment: 0 to 78 degrees F, 30-85% humidity.
