Registered Behavior Technician (Center Based) - CTH

  • The RBT provides direct support through a trauma-informed, behavior analytic approach to adult individuals with co-occurring intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental/behavioral health needs who are admitted to the Crisis Therapeutic Home (CTH).
  • The RBT participates on the direct support team in facilitating daily therapeutic and individualized programming for individuals at the CTH.
  • The RBT is responsible for assessment and daily behavioral data collection required for identified individuals, and will take lead on implementing behavioral supports modeling behavioral interventions to other staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works under the clinical supervision of the REACH BCBA and administrative supervision of the CTH Program Supervisor.
  • Assists individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), behavioral and physical health goals, social-emotional wellness, community engagement and leisure activities.
  • Teaches and reinforces policies, procedures and programming for guests and their caregivers (if applicable) in the CTH.
  • Supports challenging behaviors and crises while maintaining respect for each individual's dignity, individuality and right to confidentiality.
  • Maintains professional boundaries with individuals and follows ethical and licensing guidelines for both Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and Easterseals UCP/REACH Program.
  • Participates in information gathering for the development and implementation of guest's Crisis Education and Prevention Plan.
  • Takes lead on information gathering for the development of behavior supports and programming, including indirect and direct functional behavior assessment, preference assessments, sensory assessments and daily behavioral data collection.
  • Works in collaboration with the Clinical Specialist to support and implement daily therapeutic programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution required. Bachelor degree in a human services or related field preferred.
  • RBT Certification from the BACB and 1-2 years’ relevant experience strongly preferred. Willing to consider those currently seeking RBT Certification, with 2-3+ years of relevant experience required.
  • If eligible for QMHP status, then registration required with the Board of Counseling as a QMHP-A and/or -C, or as a QMHP-Trainee.
  • Experience with crisis prevention and intervention services strongly preferred.
  • Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work.
  • Complete within specified time period the trainings as required by agency and service model.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize computer word processing and data programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Record software (Welligent), etc.
  • Must demonstrate capacity to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form.
