Infrastructure Administrator (Temp to Hire)  

Description

The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the support, operation, and maintenance of all IT Infrastructure-related matters for the Academy. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the servers, storage, systems, and network equipment. You will continuously identify and improve the Academy Infrastructure, working non-business operational hours as needed to participate in 24/7 on-call support.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with established IT Infrastructure policies and procedures and IT life cycle, support and maintain IT Infrastructure including servers (virtual and physical), network equipment, and systems and services providers of IT. Perform patch management as required on any IT Infrastructure.
  • Monitor Infrastructure, system, storage, and network performance. Develop the baseline and build historical data for analysis. Provide recommendations as needed to leaders of IT and other business units for optimization and/or improvements. Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with other business units in provisioning new IT Infrastructure services while adhering to IT Infrastructure standards and policies.
  • Maintain Active Directory; update Active Directory as required by other business units. Actively participate in On-boarding/Off-boarding process with HR, Security, Operations, and Facilities.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all Academy digital information that are stored in Infrastructure-supported storage medium.
  • Provide purchasing information for recommended Infrastructure solutions, hardware, and software.
  • In conjunction with business units and IT leadership, maintain the established disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Identify where improvements are needed and provide recommended solutions to business and IT leadership.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot Infrastructure issues, identifying and recommending solutions in a timely manner. Engage vendors if needed and act as liaison to business units and external experts.
  • Provide Tier 3 support where necessary, identifying opportunity to train users and technicians needed.
 
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Administrator in an enterprise or 8 years progressive experience leading up to the role.
  • Experience and knowledge in corporate Wintel environment, integrating and implementing solutions utilizing virtualization, storage, network, and other utilities to support the Infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise network, such as network protocol, VLAN, access-control, security, and routing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the IT department and with other business stakeholders and non-technical people.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time in a dynamic IT environment in accordance with organization and department objectives.
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds.
  • Availability to work extended hours and nights as needed.

The expected starting salary for this role is $110,000.  The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
