Pricing Analyst 

Description

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for preparing the file that is received from the customer/sales team to ensure it is vetted, and all requirements in the file are summarized and known. Analyst will work with the sales and operations teams to ensure the CRM is properly used and smaller customers lanes are priced as needed. Once a bid is completed, Analyst will make sure the bids are sent to customer in correct format with target lanes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure the rate calendar process is followed and schedule bid review meetings for pricing team.
  • Update customer awarded commitment tool.
  • Create, organize, and maintain e-file hierarchy in proper network drive
  • Prepare Bid Files -
    • Formatting, preparing and uploading files to DAT.
    • Pulling in DAT Rates for lanes.
    • Understand, interpret and outlining bid requirements
  • CRM Management -
    • Ensure USAT sales personnel are entering bids and opportunities correctly in the CRM System.
    • Ensuring past bids are closed out correctly in the CRM system.
  • Storing feedback and data from customers on any bids or awards received.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Operations team on small accounts (~$0-$1M annualized spend) to present customer with pricing and strategy.
  • Prepare bid files to be sent out to carriers for rate collection and lane awards when customer freight is awarded.
  • Note: This position is not responsible for supervising others.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience.
  • Continuing education in regulatory and compliance items.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Strong general knowledge of freight pricing and strategy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration laterally, upward, and downward.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with detailed knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
