Location: Tallahassee or Remote

ROLE SUMMARY: The License Compliance Manager assists the National Director of Compliance in maintaining the company's cannabis licenses nationwide. The License Compliance Manager's core functions are managing the production of application packages reflecting license renewals, changes of ownership, changes of location, disclosure updates, and more; and coordinating the activities of internal and external parties to ensure timely completion of complex, deadline-based cannabis licensing projects.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the National Director of Compliance with managing license compliance projects nationwide and day to day department activities
  • Manage License Compliance team(s), set priorities and schedules ? - Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all license compliance-related materials
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather information needed for timely submission of responses to license compliance matters
  • Clarify, monitor, and research regulatory requirements related to licensing compliance for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with maintaining public and private partnerships in operational markets
  • Assist with expeditious completion of requests by regulatory authorities for additional information, documentation, and key person disclosures, including fingerprinting
  • Keeps department management appropriately informed of ongoing activity, issues, and changes
  • Assists with project management and task management as directed ? - Performs other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social sciences, humanities, business, or similar field
  • 2+ years of state cannabis licensing experience with a track record of success
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting cannabis laws and regulations
  • Prior law firm and/or cannabis consultant experience is preferred ? - Extensive knowledge of cannabis markets and cannabis business operations
  • Able to read, understand, and analyze laws, regulations, application requirements, and other materials ? - Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Works well independently and as part of a team ? - Proven ability to effectively manage priorities across projects and meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and also in a dynamic, fast-paced small team environment
  • Clear, concise, and professional communication in written and verbal formats; able to communicate across organizational levels
  • Self-starter with a 'can do' attitude ? - High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed to meet approaching deadlines (following timely submission of a project, time off may be granted at manager's discretion to reward for going above and beyond)
  • Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening (cannabis/THC is EXCLUDED from drug screening)
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., at a desk), often sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • Must be able to repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers (e.g., typing).
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Must be able to spend long hours in front of a computer screen.

  • WORK SCHEDULE: 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet deadlines
