Reporting to: Compliance Manager

 

 

Job Description:

The Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for providing support and coordinating efforts to ensure that we operate within all state and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations across all divisions of the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports management of regulatory compliance for all business lines in the state
  • Supports management of employee licensing for the state and auditing, in partnership with corporate licensing and compliance department.
  • Supports management of and ensuring state compliance training manuals and required trainings are up to date, in partnership with learning and development, compliance, and management teams.
  • Supports management of state compliance SOPs
  • Supports the internal mock audit program. Assists operations in evaluating observations, and root cause analysis. Aids in the development of corrective action. Performs follow-up on audit observations. Tracks responses, monitors implementation, and ensures effectiveness of corrective action.
  • Interact regularly with regulators (state, local) to address compliance questions and compliance concerns that arise
  • Understand all regulation & state compliance guidelines for the industry
  • Develop expertise in new regulatory areas as necessary to meet the needs of our business
  • Participate in the evaluation and changes to processes and procedures upon regulatory updates and or State deficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals
  • Accurately and promptly maintain records and reports.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager by answering phone calls and emails, providing appropriate specialized guidance and information.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, work collectively and respectfully with other team members.
  • Assist the legal team as necessary.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

 

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent
  • Knowledge of applicable cannabis laws, rules, and regulations preferred.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it.
  • Ability to interact with auditors and regulators
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; sophisticated interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong internal relationships, influence others and work as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Candidate must successfully pass a criminal background investigation and fingerprint clearance. Must be able to obtain an AZDHS issued Dispensary/Facility Agent Card
  • If necessary, ability to work 7 days per week and to be flexible with schedule.
  • Environmental requirements and exposure:
  • Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables
