Administrative Assistant
OVERVIEW: Responsible for overall front office activities, including the reception area, mail, large purchasing requests and facilities. Also responsible for directing and coordinating office services and related activities, including developing and working with enterprise managers for the utilization of services and supplies/equipment. This position is under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), responsible for all day-to-day functions of the EEI business enterprises.

HOURLY WAGE: $18 TO $22 Per Hour - DOQ
WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Manages the office to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image.
- Coordinates and maintains CEO's meetings and work schedules.
- Responsible for gathering information that is requested and directed by the CEO and keeping track of task assignments and directives from the EEI Board of Directors.
- Maintain record of minutes and resolutions upon approval by the EEI Board of Directors.
- Order supplies as needed for the EEI office and assure that adequate internal controls are maintained on required inventories and try to keep the office supply costs at basic needs.
- Prepare, coordinate, and maintain the EEI mail outs to the Business Committee of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.
- Assist the CEO in preparation for meetings, in keeping records of meeting minutes, and maintaining book of approved Resolutions.
- Serve as notary public for the EEI and its business enterprises, making sure licenses are current.
- Responsible for any filing and record keeping on behalf of CEO and EEI Board and making sure Confidentiality is maintained on all documents.
- Performs other relevant job duties as required by CEO.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in a related field or a minimum of four (4) years' experience in a related management position and training in management principles, practices, supervision, and administration; previous experience with Indian government or organization preferred.
- At least two years of switchboard experience.
- At least two years of previous experience in office management.
- Computer literacy, specifically MS Word for Windows and other programs
- Must be dependable and adapt to changes
- Must know how to problem solve and make independent decision making
- Good planning and organizing skills
- Must know how to work independently with little supervision
- Must be able to pass a background check with
- NO prior convictions for: DUI in past 5 years; child-related offenses; domestic abuse; theft, fraud, bribery, extortion, perjury, embezzlement or conspiracy to commit any of the same; or any felonies;
- NO prior civil judgments for dishonesty, fraud, misappropriation of property or funds, or conversion; and
- NO reported instances of negligence in carrying out essential job functions.
- Must be able to comply with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe Drug Free Workplace policies.
- Must possess a Washington State driver's license within 30 days of employment.
- Must provide current proof of automotive liability insurance and maintain the same throughout employment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of computer software and how to utilize them.
- Knowledge in written and oral communication.
- Working knowledge of mail processes such as postage machine, Federal Express and UPS.
- Ability to manage staff (supervisory experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of lifting 15-20 pounds
- Capable of bending, kneeling, stretching, sitting for long period of time
- Able to utilize visual acuity for extended time on computer
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have UA testing completed prior to employment.
