RevClaims, a MedData company, has an excellent career opportunity available as a Supervising Attorney to work remotely from a home office. The schedule for this full time role is Monday- Friday 8am -5pm. 

 

Position Description:

A RevClaims’ Supervising Attorney will guide a group of insurance and legal professionals in maximizing recovery on patient accounts for client hospitals involving third party liability (TPL) events; such as car accidents, slip and falls, workers compensation, etc.

 

The legal matters related to these accounts include: the filing and perfection of liens, negotiating settlements with attorneys and insurance adjusters, probate and estate work, federal and state interpleaders, counseling client hospitals, and representing the company and client hospitals’ interests in a number of different litigation scenarios.

 

Beyond legal work, a Supervising Attorney will be responsible for an amalgam of duties related to an assigned book of business, made up of health systems and physician practices. This position is also responsible for developing processes and best practices that will help to integrate internal staff with our client hospitals in such a way to increase recovery and exploit efficiencies. Additionally, this position will require the overseeing the day-to-day work of employees, which will include development programs, progressive discipline, and other front-line supervisory duties.  

 

The duties of this position can be performed remotely with occasional required travel for business functions.

 

 Essential Functions:

  • Knowledge and application of state and federal case law, regulations, and codes for our line of business.
  • Knowledge and acumen to develop litigation strategies related to patient accounts.
  • Ability to concisely and persuasively communicate with varying levels of professionals.
  • Ability to coordinate legal and non-legal staff to efficiently resolve settlement of patient accounts.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Technology based testing.
  • Research and development aimed to achieve company initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Required Education
  • Candidate must have a law degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Texas Bar License is required for this position with additional states preferred.
  • If offered the position, the candidate may also be asked to apply for additional bar exam (or admission through reciprocity) in additional jurisdictions related to the RevClaims’ book of business.
  • Business and/ or Computer Science Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience
  • 2 years management experience preferred.
  • Revenue cycle management experience preferred.
