Purpose of Division:

The National Initiatives Division is comprised of three program areas that focus on progressive research and program development to support and enhance the critical lines of business of NeighborWorks Organizations in homeownership, real estate and neighborhood development, and community building and engagement.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Homeownership Analytics and Data serves to increase capacity for homeownership services at NeighborWorks® America and in the NeighborWorks® system to achieve the corporate homeownership goals. Work requires wide knowledge of homeownership program development and programmatic activities, including trend and market analysis, homebuyer education and lending systems, internal systems, customer service, current market conditions and cost recovery. This position will report to the VP National Homeownership Programs & Lending (NHPL). The position requires the management of two staff also engaged in data management, analysis and tracking.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Research, develop and implement strategies and action plans to achieve the corporate homeownership goals. Assist with the growth and development of the NeighborWorks® NHPL. Monitor benchmarks for progress of the NHPL programs and related corporate goals.
  • Oversee the data collection and data analysis needed by NHPL. These include but are not limited to Housing Counseling, Lending, LIFT, Sustainable Business Initiatives, and Financial Capability. Identify, build, streamline, and maintain tools to support data needs of NHPL team members. Coordinate closely with NHPL stakeholders regarding analytical needs.
  • Provide analysis (trends, projections, and progress reports) of performance measures and impact metrics needed for planning, resource allocations, and program requirements and requests. Manage the creation of external-facing dashboards and other visualizations in coordination with the Corporate Strategy and Impact division.
  • Manage other staff and/or consultants, including their relevant data collection and/or analysis for NHPL core projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely and regularly with Corporate, Strategy, and Impact (CSI) to ensure alignment on data analysis methodology, application, and best practices. Coordinate data sets to allow for cross divisional use, e.g., Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data.
  • Deliver frequent presentations and analytical writing for internal and external audiences on programmatic and policy topics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners, including institutions, industry groups, other intermediaries, governments and leading practitioners. Provide support for partnership building and resource development efforts to develop best practices and innovations.
  • Assist with public policy development on homeownership issues.
  • Work with Organizational Assessment Division on the development and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators for NHPL lines of business and report on individual NeighborWorks® organizations.
  • Oversee market analysis and information to assist with the refinement of NHPL initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and/or subject matter expertise on research and evaluation related to NHPL programs and lines of business.
  • Provide key support to the development of an external and internal trend analysis, e.g., industry trends, local/regional demographic trends, and internal production indicators
  • Maintain access to the corporation’s data base and provide key analysis on progress on corporate goals-as they relate to homeownership.
  • Investigate the latest technology that help NWOs increase efficiencies, production and homeowner retention.
  • Other job-related duties and leading special projects as assigned.

Nature of Work Contacts:

Serve as focal point for information and updates on Initiative progress for NeighborWorks® America staff and managers and for other internal and external audiences as requested. Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing among prospective and NeighborWorks Organizations with a NHPL related Line of Business. Liaise with Officers of the Corporation and intersecting Divisional Leadership.

 
Position Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Education: A bachelor’s degree in in business, nonprofit management, public administration or related degree is required.
(b) Experience: At least five (5) to eight (8) years of demonstrated nonprofit management mortgage lending, real estate development and/or homeownership development and program activities experience, including customer outreach, homebuyer education and counseling, lending, property rehabilitation services, and post-purchase activities; or a combination of relevant education, training and related experience which provides the desired knowledge, abilities, and skills. Experience managing staff preferred.
(c) Licenses, Certifications: None specified.
(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have demonstrated management of multiple complex and large-scale projects and web-based technologies in a fast-paced team environment paired with the ability to meet critical deadlines and use and manipulate data.

Must be skilled at developing high-level professional external and internal relationships, coordinating with national and local partners, and fundraising. Advanced research and technology related communications skills necessary, including essential interpretive and public presentation. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of research design, data collection, analysis and data reporting/presentation. Proficient in statistical analysis and cluster analysis. Understanding of databases and how to use and create them. Aptitude for learning new software to support research and analysis work. GIS/mapping capability preferred. Skilled and experienced in Tableau. Experience with Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data preferred. [NM1]

(f) Technology: A working knowledge of Client Management Systems, such as Compass or mPact Pro or other used by housing counseling agencies, is recommended. Expertise in Salesforce also strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree preferred. Previous training experience desired.


Working Conditions:
(a) Travel:
Up to 25%.
(b) Physical/Sensory Demands: Fast paced work environment, extensive computer usage. Must maintain regular and timely attendance.

Special Provisions:
Work is performed in field office settings, requiring travel and frequent overnight absences from place of residence.
