*This position reports to our World Headquarters location in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

At Blue, we discover pathways to realize your possibilities. Overall responsibility for maintaining the computer networks, servers, operating, processing systems, and communication links. Manage the staff and resources dedicated to supporting data center operations, office automation (server virtualization, storage networks, etc.), PCs and end user equipment, network and systems security (routers, firewalls, security monitoring equipment), and backup and replication technology administration. This position also focuses on the following:

  • Supervises the day-to-day administration of the IT Department's 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year production and disaster recovery computer environments. Works closely with the IT departments Executive Management to keep the IT Operations department abreast operational conditions, while maintaining a stable and secure computing environment.

  • Participates in short and long range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company and its members. This will also include short-term and long-term capacity planning, staffing, and general operations of the IT Operations department. Also participating in the required audi functions of the credit union on an annual basis. Supporting the Executive Management of the department with monitoring, reporting, and testing of the credit unions IT policies and procedures.

  • Manages staff responsible for installing, supporting, and managing all of the hardware, software, voice and network components of the credit union. Plays an active role in responding to and developing solutions for component failures and complex technical problems in all areas to deliver a sound and stable computing infrastructure. Coordinates and responds to support request from the company's Support Desk ticketing system.

  • Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software at the company's disaster recovery site and provides technical support for disaster recovery testing.

  • Develops and maintains effective and productive working relations’ with user departments, senior managers, and vendors. Works in a collaborative roll to facilitate IT Operations role in the overall corporate structure.

  • Ensures IT staff achieves timely completion of reporting; including, but not limited to, daily reports, monthly/quarterly reports, month end/quarterly processing and posting, specialized reports as needed. This will include special committee assignments for IT Steering and Secure Credit Union Responsibility (SCURe) committee.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Compensation: $88,215 - $124,540

 
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with managing hardware and networking services. Ideal candidate will have experience with a financial services organization or large datacenter operations with 365x24x7 requirements. Need a strong technical background for the day-to-day responsibilities of this position and must possess collaborative leadership skills capable of leading a technical staff and daily IT operations in a fast- paced financial services environment.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Bachelor's degree in an IT or Cybersecurity related field. Master degree preferred. Current certification in one or more of the following areas: Microsoft Operating Systems, Cisco Networking Systems, Cybersecurity, IT Operations (ITIL, Scrum/Agile), and/or Project Management.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have strong interpersonal and communication abilities. A strong customer service orientation is a must because information technology managers often serve as the final escalation point for high-visibility troubleshooting.

OTHER SKILLS: Analytical thinking is very important, as this position often involves problem resolution and process development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise. After-hours work and on-call rotation hours are expected

MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
