Share Email Opening Title Mountain Mechanic  Description Title / Position: Mountain Mechanic Position type: Year-round, Full-time; Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Mountain Operations Summary: Primary responsibility is the repair and maintenance of all equipment as assigned. These duties may take this individual to any part of the mountain to assist in repairs. Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and schedules work in conjunction with direct supervisor or Mountain Manager Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on companies rolling stock. Works with lift maintenance as needed on mechanical and/or low voltage issues. Performs other duties as required by company   Position Requirements Qualifications and Competencies: Must have ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems Must have knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance Must be able to multi-task Possessing knowledge of snow grooming equipment a plus Ability to operate heavy equipment a plus Ability to troubleshoot low voltage (24V) issues a plus Must be able to project the image established by company Supervisory Responsibility: This position may or may not oversee other employees assigned to vehicle maintenance. Work Environment: This job operates both indoors and outdoors throughout the year in all types of Vermont weather. This role routinely uses automotive repair equipment including lifts and pneumatic tools. Ability to assist “on-mountain” is critical. Physical Demands: This is a physically active role requiring several hours of standing in an open maintenance bay.
