Salary Range: $65,000 to $95,000 - Negotiable but must meet requirements below

Position Summary:  Denver Christian is growing and adding another Accountant to the Business Office.  The role of the Accountant team member will work closely with the Director of Finance and the other Business Office personnel to accurately and efficiently manage all funds that are received and disbursed at Denver Christian School.

Professional Expectations: In addition to the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Procedures Handbook, the Expectations of the Accountant team member include but are not limited to the following:


  • Perform month-end closing and generate reports for the School and its Foundation

  • Process and manage tuition and fee payments and plans through the FACTS system

  • Reconciliation through Quickbooks each Month and produce reports

    • Cash and Investment Accounts

    • Credit Card Accounts

    • Deferred Revenue and Accounts Receivable - Tuition

    • Pledges Receivable and Donations

    • Debt Loan Balance

    • Fixed Assets (Annually)

    • Restricted Net Assets

  • Produce Department reports

  • Produce Financials and additional analytics as needed and directed

  • Assist the Director of Finance with annual audit prep work

    • Year End Closing and Internal Financials

    • Annual Completion of the IRS 990 - School & Foundation

  • Assist the Admissions office in the FACTS system - enrollments/withdraws

  • Assist Director of Finance with annual budget preparation, analysis, and research

  • Provide support and tracking of the Financial Aid process

  • Provide support and tracking of the Scholarships - internal and external

  • Provide support and tracking of all donations and pledges. 

  • Manage several cash boxes for events and activities within the school 

    • Cash deposits made and cash drawers balanced and filled. 

  • Daily email and phone coorespondance with families regarding tuition accounts - billing, financial aid, etc. 

  • Internal Control process improvement

  • Non-Tuition Revenue recordkeeping and full-cycle financial system creation 

Position Requirements

Degree in Accounting required (CPA preferred)

Stable and consistent work history required 

+10 years of full time accounting experience preferred, +5 years full time accounting experience required

Non-profit accounting and audit experience is highly preferred 

Passionate learner, especially in the accounting industry

Very detailed with superior work ethic and internal drive for excellence

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

Creative Thinker and Team Player 

Personal faith in Jesus Christ with active involvement in your church
