Title / Position: Human Resources Manager

Position type: Year-round, Full-time; Salary, Exempt

Reports to: President / General Manager

Summary: Primary role is to provide employee-focused information, services, programs, policies, and compliance initiatives. Responsible for maintaining all personnel related documentation, files, and record systems. Act as key support and internal communications point person for Bromley’s management team and front-line staff.

Working with the President/General Manager and department heads the HR Manager will coordinate efforts and provide guidance, counsel, and assistance in the areas of employee relations, benefits, labor law, policy compliance, recruitment, on-boarding, training, and workforce management.

The HR Manager will maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. He/she is charged with protecting sensitive Bromley and employee information and will act with some independence to ensure fairness and objectivity while exemplifying and supporting Bromley’s vision, mission, and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate HR systems and processes; provide service, counsel, guidance, and assistance across all HR disciplines to managers and supervisors.
  • Support and expand the effectiveness and capabilities of the Bromley workforce through focus on positive employee experiences, building teamwork, across department relationships, and information sharing.
  • Serve as point person for the organization in all benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), etc.
  • Serve as point person for all staffing within organization, from needs analysis through onboarding.  
  • Participate in special projects as directed by the President/General Manager.
  • Manage the Switchboard / Receptionist position.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three of HR experience OR five years of prior HR experience
  • Management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be personable and have great people skills both internally and externally.
  • Can-do attitude, flexible.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with discretion when necessary.
  • Strong public speaking skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages the Switchboard / Receptionist team of 1-3 individuals and may also chair a committee. This position is also part of the senior leadership team.

Work Environment:

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, mail machines, and fax machines. Occasional work outdoors (any time of year) assisting in other departments is likely throughout the base of operations.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role working indoors using computers and phones for extended periods; however, some movement and work around the entire resort is necessary.
