Role and Responsibilities


VSolvit has an opening for a Scrum Master / Technical Project Assistant. This is a multi-faceted role charged with assisting the management and team for project success. This position will assist in managing projects using a variety of methodologies, such as SAFe/agile, waterfall software development, or in many cases, a hybrid. Works directly with customers and developers to ensure delivery of projects on-time and on-budget by assisting in managing expectations and balancing sustainability, scheduling, and team performance. The most significant function of this position is effective communication with keen attention to detail.

The Scrum Master / Technical Project Assistant must help keep the customer and development team appraised of all expectations and actively work to resolve any disagreements. They will maintain awareness of the requirements, deadlines, and project status. The Scrum Master / Technical Project Assistant will develop, analyze and assist in presenting options to the customer and/or development team when issues arise.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, ability to work independently, adhering to typical working hours, meeting deadlines, following customer company and policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor, and staying focused on the assigned tasks.


Responsibilities also include:

  • Trains, follows and enforces Agile and Scaled Agile principles
  • Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
  • Identify clear deliverables and responsibilities for team members
  • Evaluates complex situations using diverse sources of information
  • Monitors and motivates a development team and interacts with staff at all levels in the company and customer organization
  • Analyze, plan, and develop procedures and other management and technical duties
  • Define the scope of the project, roles, and responsibilities along with various stakeholders
  • Participate in the allocation of staff and any other resource(s) that are needed to accomplish goals (projects)
  • Responsible for the management of complex problems and development of processes for scheduling, administration, and reporting
  • Responsible for identifying, clarifying, and communicating the vision(s) and/or objective(s) of projects and show how they fall in place with, enhance, or inhibit such vision(s) and/or objective(s)
  • Provide process improvement recommendations that are based on best practices and industry standards
  • Support company proposal effort by authoring and / or reviewing content for various business development efforts
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years technical development experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Project Management processes and strategies
  • Demonstrated experience with SAFe and / or Agile methodologies
  • United States Citizenship required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master certification
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Experience or familiarity with Navy terminology
  • Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance
