We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for a variety of responsibilities which requires a broad understanding of Human Resources functions. The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, recruiting, leave management, and HRIS system implementation & maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Provide HR support and consultation to the business, answering employee and manager questions about HR programs, policies, and other HR-related items
  • Conduct confidential investigations and recommends disciplinary action and solutions by collecting, analyzing and summarizing investigation information.
  • Develops and implements employee engagement initiatives
  • Creates and maintains the planning and execution of employee recognition events
  • Oversees the employee new hire welcoming process, works to ensure new employees feel welcome.
  • Creates, develops and conducts training to promote a positive employee culture
  • Assists in the recruiting process from posting open positions, conducting candidate phone screens, scheduling interviews, drafting & sending offer letters, candidate communication, onboarding and orientation.
  • Assist in COVID related investigations and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Ensures consistency in compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws as well as company policies and guidelines.
 
Position Requirements

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ of work experience in a HR capacity
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification highly desired
  • Experience using Ascentis HR highly desired
  • Multi state experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to build and maintain trust at all levels, protect and preserve confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
