What You Will be Doing
The Senior Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) Specialist leads quality improvement activities within Boundless Health, prepares clinical quality reports for federal funders, board committees and the quality committee, reviews critical/adverse incident reports of clinical interactions and clinical documentation from provider treatment records and manages the patient satisfaction assessment process.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, analyzing, and tracking all Boundless Health incident reports, advise staff regarding reporting requirements, as needed, and consult with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) regarding significant incidents, safety concerns, and development of improvement strategies.
  • In partnership with the CMO, coordinate, monitor, receive, analyze, and track all record reviews according to licensing boards, state/federal regulations, and accrediting/certifying bodies.
  • Develop and facilitate training opportunities for Boundless Health staff based on QA initiatives, quality of care findings, and performance improvement project plans.
  • Become an expert in SmartCare and Afia data systems to support the quality improvement activities of the health center.
  • Know of and assist in targeted accreditation, certification, and audit processes.
  • Facilitate the annual review and update of the Boundless Health CQI plan, facilitate quarterly CQI committee meetings, prepare quarterly quality reports for the CQI committee and Boundless Health Board of Directors.
  • Facilitate the Boundless Health Stand-Up meetings with the nursing and provider team, which are designed to address workflow challenges and other quality concerns monthly.
  • Lead the annual Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting process for the FQHC and collaborate with the CMO to develop strategies to address data gaps or performance deficiencies.
  • Research applicable laws, rules, and regulations and accurately report findings to the QA Team to maintain organizational compliance and facilitate performance improvement.
  • Lead patient/stakeholder satisfaction assessment activities to determine perceptions of and levels of satisfaction with services.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Boundless Health, I Am Boundless, and all affiliated company’s policies and procedures.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, public health, healthcare administration. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the health care field.
  • Superior project management and documentation skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
  • Must be familiar with and have a working knowledge with QI process improvement methodology strategies including but not limited to PDSA and DMAIC.
  • Must be familiar with the HEDIS, UDS, and PCMH requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, specifically CMS and the Bureau of Primary Care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and Privacy Rules.

Preferred Education, Experience and Licensure:

  • Quality Improvement experience in a managed care environment.
  • Experience with and proficient in data analysis. Working knowledge of relational database and statistical analyses is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt.
