The Director of Development and Enterprise Applications is responsible for collaborating on the develop the strategy, development activities, operational support, and maintenance requirements for our credit union digital channel presence and enterprise business applications. The position combines managerial responsibilities with in-depth hands-on technical expertise. The Director is responsible for appropriate staffing, staff management, performance management, and continuous service improvement. The Director role is responsible for developing and maintaining an Agile project management framework to support the strategic direction of the credit union. This position also focuses on:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Enterprise Application and Development teams to deliver digital and enterprise applications in support of the credit union's strategic direction. Works closely with all credit union stakeholders and Digital experience staff in identifying, evaluating, selecting and/or developing, and implement modern digital products and enterprise technologies. This position will be integral in support of the over-arching strategies and large enterprise applications supporting the entire credit union.

  • Responsible for developing and managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and new-release versioning of enterprise applications. Responsible for project management from the inception of development to product implementation, support resolution, maintenance, and enhancement priorities raised by the end user community. Develops relevant metrics, measures, and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups. Ensure department adheres to policies, procedures, and security standards that are compliant with industry and regulatory requirements. Serves as an internal consultant to other IT and Digital management staff and operations community as needed. Directs the operational programs for ongoing incident identification, support, and maintenance of applications - this will include 24hr on call coverage as required.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in the area of digital channel adaptation, application development, and Financial Technology (FinTech) advancements in the financial services industry. Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objecti ves. Assists with the preparation of budget for Digital systems and Enterprise Applications and services related to development, interfaces, and applications used throughout the credit union.

  • Sets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team. Hires and evaluates the performance of direct reports and provides ongoing coaching and staff development. Addresses individual staff performance problems as needed.

  • Manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication. Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates. Negotiates resolution of conflicting requirements across departments.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Compensation: $88,215 - $124,540

 
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE: Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: A bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. A professional certificate or a post graduate degree preferred .

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 1O lbs. Must be capable of climbing/ descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance .

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence . Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/ requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters .

Bondability Employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
