POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Quality Assurance Technician (QAT) is part of a highly functioning team that helps ensure consistent data input processes across the organization for public health data integrity. While following established protocols, responsibilities include: confirmation of appointments and providing upcoming patient appointment reminders; correcting data errors and missing data as it relates to public health services; identifying and carrying out public health service support duties. The Lead QAT will serve as a superuser for the Community Health Division for training, development and testing of the electronic health record, workflow development, and new program implementation. The Lead QAT will serve as the preceptor to their duties when onboarding new employees. The incumbent will audit public health data, ensure accurate data input for purposes of public health data and revenue, such as vaccination, billable services, and other public health efforts as they arise. The Lead QAT will work closely with public health data analyst, clinical staff, and support staff across the organization to ensure consistent entry and processes that affect public health care and public health data. This is an American Rescue Plan Act-funded position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers patient calls related to public health services and schedules patients into needed services, such as telehealth for lab results, vaccination, and other public health programs. This includes scheduling for medical staff assigned to Public Health services.
- Serves as preceptor to new employees or those cross-training to ensure orientation to public health service processes, schedules, and workflows.
- Compiles reports and public health statistics in collaboration with Public Health Director.
- Oversees data integrity. Ensures that public health services, such as positive results notification, infectious disease treatment and case management, and vaccination visits are created and documented correctly to ensure accurate data reporting. When input issues are identified, notifies clinical and support staff of corrective action needed and monitors results and follow-through.
- Trains and orients Division staff in EHR and process flow related to Community Health Services data integrity.
- Works closely with Public Health Director to implement new programs and workflows, provide staff training and support and ensure that appropriate and accurate tracking and documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Provides day-to-day direction to other staff in support of public health data input and outreach to community regarding public health services. Utilizes data software to provide outreach to community members in regards to essential public health services
- Participates in daily huddles to determine daily staffing, telehealth, data quality assurance, and care coordination needs.
- Participate in meetings regarding planning, development, processes to improve workflows, patient flows, billing and etc.
- Serves as electronic health record (EHR) super user and works with software systems for clinical, medical, dental, laboratory, pharmacy and other healthcare office systems and provides training and orientation for new team members. The Lead QAT will be responsible for testing of new developments, workflows and testing teams as related to EHR or other project initiatives.
- Oversees clinic access to the Health Information Exchange (HIE) and retrieves pertinent health care information. Oversees clinic access to MEDSIS, ASIIS, and IHS file transfer to ensure complete public health records for individual patients.
- Completes assigned special projects independently by analyzing, researching, troubleshooting, and resolving issues as they arise.
- Manages specific clinic scheduling guidelines, creates and maintains provider clinic schedules in the EHR.
- Assists Community Connectors by providing distribution of food, water and other necessary essentials to community members who are in Isolation or quarantine.
- Assists the Contact Tracing team by performing contact tracing activities for patients testing positive for Covid 19, and conducting negative results calling.
- Assists the Screener/Greeters at various entry points to ensure appropriate screening for all patients and visitors entering the TCRHCC campus.
- Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
- Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
- Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee and external customer satisfaction.

Physical:
???????Incumbent must be able to sit in a sedentary office for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to frequently stand and walk. Must be able to occasionally drive, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, twist, maintain balance, and, reach. Incumbent must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability for prolonged periods of near vision; hearing normal speech; and telephone use. Must also have the ability for frequently far vision; color vision; and, hearing overhead pages on a loudspeaker. Incumbent must occasionally have the ability for depth perception and seeing in fine details. The incumbent will be expected to be able to use hands manipulation with simple grasping, firm grasping, and use of keyboards. The position may be occasionally exposed to infectious disease, and dust, fumes, and gases. Must be able to accept flexible schedule to meet unit needs occasionally.
Mental:
Must be able to effectively communicate to the patient what specific information is needed, the reason for requesting such information, and able to ascertain that it is accurate as possible. Consequences of obtaining inaccurate information may delay necessary medical treatment, delay the billing process, and cause unnecessary frustration and problems.
