Under direct supervision, the General Clerk provides administrative support services within the Customer Advocacy department by primarily performing scanning of Adverse Action letters. In addition, this position performs clerical tasks such as addressing all incoming and outgoing facility mail, copying, sorting, logging and filing client and business transactions along with other general clerical and Bolingbrook facilities support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries for the Bolingbrook office. Post and ensure all outgoing mail and shipments are set out for couriers to pick up.
  • Use proprietary database system to scan all daily incoming Adverse Action letters. Shred AA letters once they have been scanned into the database. Provide reports as required and provide support on additional tasks/duties within Customer Disputes as directed by management.
  • Provide backup support to front desk position as requested.
Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

A minimum of one year in a clerk, mailroom or related scanning role preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications: (First list requirements, followed by preferences.)

  • Computer and data entry skills are required for database entry.
  • Organizational ability and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, highly organized detail-oriented
  • Must be able to work in a time sensitive role
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and willingness to do tasks as assigned, as the workflow deems necessary.

Must demonstrate a customer and team focus.

Physcial Requirements: This role is largely a sedentary in nature and involves sitting for long periods of time. The role requires the ability to hear and talk as well as to see data and adjust visual focus for computer and paper tasks, read, type, lift and/or carry equipment and files up to 20 pounds, walk, bend or stand as necessary.

Working Environment: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, phones, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, filing cabinets and fax machines.
