Description

Centennial Resource Development, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDEV) is seeking a Sr. Environmental Representative in its Midland, TX office. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Environmental Representative will need to have adequate knowledge and understanding of Federal and State environmental regulations, and specifically as applicable to Texas and New Mexico. The successful candidate will support implementation of numerous environmental programs including Spill Reporting and Remediation, Endangered Species, Waste Management, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure, NORM Management, Stormwater Management and Reclamation Programs and will be responsible for submitting required reporting to applicable regulatory agencies associated with the above duties. In addition, the successful candidate should have a general knowledge of applicable State and Federal Air Quality Regulations to compliment this position.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Under limited supervision, general coordination of the Company’s environmental management programs.
  • Oversight of internal and external reporting and documentation of environmental incidents through the internal Safety and Environmental Management Reporting System.
  • Data Tracking and Management relative to environmental responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely reporting of qualified events to State and Federal agencies as applicable.
  • Serve as liaison with applicable regulatory agencies
  • General coordination and management of contractors who are utilized for environmental mitigation and remediation activities.
  • General oversight, tracking, and management of costs associated with environmental remediation, planning, and coordination.
  • Development and coordination of training relative to the Company’s environmental management programs and delivering training to field company personnel and contractors as required.
  • Participation in regulatory committees and meetings to further understand the regulatory changes and framework associated with environmental management and keep the HSE manager informed of changes that could impact the organization.
  • Oversight and coordination of spill prevention efforts, efforts to identify root causal factors relative to spill/release events and focus on environmental impact prevention, endangered species protection, environmental improvements, and environmental sustainability efforts. This includes time in the field conducting environmental assessments.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory environment, changes to regulations, and remains aware of technology and changing processes relative to environmental management principles.
  • General support of other HSE team members.
  • Providing support as requested to ensure safety and environmental compliance and culture is maintained throughout CDEV operations
  • Other HSE initiatives as directed by the HSE Manager.

Compensation & Benefits Information:

  • Salary range is approximately $105,000 - $115,000, depending on specific experience*
  • Other forms of compensation for this position include:
    • Target bonus of 20% of base salary and any eligible overtime wages (discretionary based on company and individual performance)

*Please note that Centennial may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range provided. Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Environmental Science or another related field
  • Minimum of 5 years Environmental remediation experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, remediation practices, environmental sampling practices, etc.
  • General understanding and familiarity of federal and state agency reporting processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational and communications skills are essential
  • A strong, team-oriented work ethic
  • Ability to work in Microsoft office applications and utilize computer based environmental and O&G data management systems.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to work safely within company and industry safety practices.
  • General knowledge of federal and state air quality regulations (Air Permits, NSPS Subpart OOOO/OOOOa) is a benefit.
