Medical - Laboratory Aide 


Job Summary

Duties include greeting patients, answering phone calls, processing paperwork, scheduling appointments, keeping work areas clean and organized, creating a welcoming environment for our patients, preparing draw station, and gather all samples requested by the patient’s health care provider.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Greets and escorts patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner.
  2. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages and provides information. Promptly relays necessary messages to staff.
  3. Scheduling appointments and entering data.
  4. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Privacy Act of 197
  5. Perform routine phlebotomy draws.
  6. Help replenish the drawing stations.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. Ability to work variable shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.
  5. Ability to multi-task while maintaining high level of organization and attention to detail.
  6. Excellent telephone, customer service and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting as an effective team player.
  8. Possession of valid BLS certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  9. Must submit to and pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  10. Must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associate’s degree in Office Administration or related field.
  2. Knowledge of history, culture and health needs of American Indian/Alaska Native communities preferred.
  3. Prior phlebotomy experience in a clinical medical office setting.

Supervised By Laboratory Supervisor  
Salary $31,357 - $46,951 annual
