Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:  Please note, SAL Family and Community Services will be requiring all of its employees, including new team members, to be fully-vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine and show acceptable proof of documentation by December 8, 2021.  SAL Family and Community Services will consider requests for reasonable accommodation as required under applicable law.

Education and Experience – Required: Associates Degree in child development or social work or related field. At least two years of experience in family/home day care with experience exercising leadership skills, problem solving, issues related to early childhood providers, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, 10+ years of experience as a licensed childcare home provider while also working towards completion of an Associate’s Degree may be considered qualified. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in child development or similar field with two or more years of experience as stated previously.

Language SkillsEffective communicator with ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, board of directors, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and AbilitiesA collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality; need to be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning; hands-on with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment; demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s mission is essential.

Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and other basic computer applications.

Travel - Must be willing to travel in and out of community. Current, valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance required.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, move or traverse, and use hands, fingers, and vision to operate computers. The employee must be able to lift 30 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing aids may be used to have capacity for normal range required for seeing/hearing children, greeting visitors, answering phones, and interacting with others. This position works indoors.

 
Description

SAL Family and Community Services is hiring for a Home Child Care Network (HCCN) Coordiantor. This position is non-exempt and reports to the Home Network Director.

Essential Functions

Under general direction is responsible for managing assigned caseload of the Home Child Care Network of licensed in-home day cares; participates in recruitment, screening, training, enrollment and compliance activities of the day care homes. Provides personal supervision and direction at the homes on a monthly basis. Maintains appropriate records. Coordinates and/or offers training, marketing, resource development and other services to home providers. Assesses compliance with research based quality measurement such as FDCRS, BAS, and Outcomes; and initiates program improvement plans. Operates with significant independence in conjunction with program and Agency administrative personnel, under the supervision of the Home Network Director. In the absence of the Home Network Director, provides appropriate leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with existing agencies and coordinates services for home childcare providers
  • Enrolls clients; completes necessary paperwork
  • Counsels families seeking child care
  • Produces necessary reports and projections to administrative personnel
  • Visits home providers on regular, established basis; documenting quality of care and regulating compliance
  • Facilitates attainment of quality rating system levels
  • Implements procedures and controls to ensure program integrity
  • Initiates and completes outcomes measurement tool in the homes annually
  • Provides training opportunities for home providers that align with Quality Rating Systems and other topics as appropriate
