What You Will be Doing
We want people to join our team who share our values of love, excellence, respect, empowerment, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be working closely with individuals to provide high-intensity support and to coordinate transitions with adolescents, young adults, and their caregivers to support their transitions into adulthood. B.E.S.T. QBHS staff work with a small caseload of these individuals and provide high-intensity care coordination through the provision of therapeutic behavioral services and community psychiatric supportive treatment. B.E.S.T. Qualified Behavioral Health Specialists will provide community support, case management, and service linkage to identify and address behavioral health needs, developmental issues, and barriers to care. This position will work with consumers, parents/guardians, Boundless staff, and outside providers that support treatment and contribute meaningfully to the whole health outcome of the individual served.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provides support to consumers engaged in behavioral health services including community psychiatric support and therapeutic support to promote the coordination and implementation of treatment goals
  • Serve as a liaison between families and agencies to positively promote collaborative processes in the treatment planning for clients by encouraging parent/guardian participation in treatment.
  • Identify and assess psychosocial and life skills needs through analysis of factors impinging on client success including factors in the home, school, and community.
  • Provide parent/guardian educational workshops on identified issues related to child development, stress reduction, discipline and safety, and teacher/parent/client communication.
  • Manage phone calls from families, guardians, agencies, etc. Set up meetings; obtain information, etc.
  • Provides case management (coordinate and link all services) for clients and families.
  • Develop programs to address parent/guardian participation in agency services and client engagement in the treatment process.
  • Maintain all required clinical records and submits appropriate documents
  • Locate and mobilize community resources to support the treatment.
  • Attend meetings and professional development activities as required.
  • All other assigned duties.
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions

Preferred Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, or another related field is preferred
  • Three plus years of experience providing case management services preferred

Required Licensure/Certification

  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant; delegated nursing. (training will be provided, if not already certified)
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance, insurable driving record (five points or fewer)

Special Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, demonstrating professionalism with both co-workers and parents, and consumers
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to stay focused
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge of children and adults with co-occurring developmental disorders and complex behavioral health issues
  • Experience working within Electronic Health Record systems
  • Must be able to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with parents, clients, peers, and staff
