Graduate from an accredited school of nursing preferably with a Bachelor of Science degree. Due to industry/regulatory/licensure/accreditation changes, continued education through workshops and seminars is required.
Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana. Competent in fetal monitor interpretation. BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications or obtains within one year from hire. Must maintain certifications required to work within the department as a staff nurse.
Experience in clinical nursing of 2 years’ is required; 2 years’ management/leadership experience is preferred.
Must know and understand industry, federal and state laws and regulations, accreditation standards and guidelines. Ability to initiate new approaches, make decisions, and problem solve is required. Critical thinking skills are imperative. Ability to communicate well with all levels of people is necessary. Leadership skills required.
