SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct-TGA Supervisor

WORK HOURS: As Assigned by Supervisor

Job Overview: The Surveillance Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, replacement and maintenance of all surveillance equipment. This includes, but is not limited to DVRs, cameras, network switches, workstations, keyboards, monitors, and all related surveillance computers/equipment. Must be available to respond and help resolve all related Issues (24/7). If unable to resolve via phone, on-site presence is mandatory. It is also the responsibility of the technician to maintain an accurate inventory to minimize downtime when equipment malfunctions. The Surveillance Technician will be used as a Surveillance Operator when not performing technician duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Network and server security, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Supports/monitors/maintains servers, networks and desktop hardware, software, and applications
  • Supports/monitors/maintains all CCTV equipment
  • Support/monitor/maintain digital video recording system
  • Installation of surveillance equipment indoors and outdoors
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently
  • Keep accurate records of all equipment, equipment malfunction and daily activities
  • Act as a Surveillance Operator when not performing assigned tech duties
 
Position Requirements

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be qualified and suitable to hold a Tribal gaming license under tribal, state and federal requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and be eligible to be placed on the Tribe's vehicle insurance policy
  • Must have manual and hand dexterity for equipment operations
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Technician Certification or combination of technology education and experience with CCTV systems
  • Must be strongly self-motivated
  • Must be able to be on-call when not at work
  • Self starter with a strong sense of urgency in tackling challenges
  • High level of professionalism
  • Ability to work calmly in difficult, high-pressure and high-stress situations
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly motivated and directed; Keen attention to detail; Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift; use hands and fingers to feel objects or tools; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods of time; able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; ability to work at heights up to approximately 20 feet above the floor when running wire or installing cameras.
  • Experience working In a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Willing to work odd and Irregular hours Including night and weekend schedules
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must sign Confidentiality and Code of Agreement
  • Must be willing to comply with the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual of the Elwha River Casino.
  • Casino employees must adhere to a healthy drug free lifestyle in compliance with policy
  • Surveillance employees are prohibited from participating as a player in any gaming activities conducted at the Elwha River Casino
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time ? Indian preference among equally qualified applicants will apply.

  • Must be able to work Independently, to be detail oriented, to be prompt, and maintain an excellent record of attendance
  • Must have working knowledge of current surveillance technologies and the ability to learn new skills as needed
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, work effectively with frequent interruptions, work on multiple tasks simultaneously, establish priorities, and organize workload
  • Must have the ability to understand implications of, and apply, federal, state, and tribal gaming rules and regulations
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments discreetly, effectively, and efficiently in sensitive, confidential circumstances
  • Must be able to develop and maintain positive peer relationships and provide assistance to casino and Commission staff in a friendly manner
  • Must be a 'team player' and work within a team-structured environment
  • Must have the ability to understand, install, and maintain surveillance equipment
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shift schedules, and any shift assigned
  • Must be able to tolerate a smoking environment
  • Must be able to travel as required
  • Must fulfill all duties as assigned

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE THAT EFFECTS PAY RATES:

  • Knowledgeable in Class II and Class Ill gaming rules and regulations as described by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), the Tribal- State Compact, the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission, and the Internal Controls (IC's) of the gaming operation
  • Excellent knowledge in the operation, installation, and maintenance of digital surveillance systems.
  • Prior experience as CCTV technician or directly related field.
  • Prior experience with servers, network switches, and Information Technologies (IT)
  • Prior experience with running CAT 5/6 cables and/or Fiber Optic Cables

As with all positions of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, this position is Indian Preference in hiring.
