SUMMARY

The Accounting Associate will be responsible for various duties pertaining to the operations of HallOVeen and Magical Forest ticket booth. This is a part time seasonal position which requires availability to work in the evenings (5 PM - Close). Incumbent must be available to work from October through January 4th.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee cash register operations and all related duties involving cash flow.
  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables and ensure accurate and timely response to our customers.
  • Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.
  • Provide support and training to cashiers, performs daily cash register sale transactions and customer service.
  • Operate the opening and closing responsibilities (i.e. balance cash drawers, record/log register totals and bank deposit).
  • Support cashiers to troubleshoot issues.
  • Provides customer service to patrons of the Magical Forest.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises the following:

  • Volunteers assigned to areas of points of sale at the Magical Forest.

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Ability to perform in person and over the telephone negotiations.  
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • An aptitude for numbers and financial content.
  • Proper organizational skills as well as file allocation.
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel and MS Word.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required: Two years’ work experience in Finance, Accounting, Banking or related field
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Business or Finance.

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a retail environment and outside in a theme park environment in variable weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb, stoops, kneels and reaches.
  • Ability to tolerate stress and intense customer service interaction.
