The early childhood services department provides comprehensive Head Start home based services, Head Start and GSRP preschool services as well as WIC services.

Pay Rate:  $17.50 w/ BA

What you will do

Head Start Early Intervention Coordinator is a part of the comprehensive services offered to children and families. The responsibilities of the Early Intervention Coordinator include:

  • Develop and maintain procedures for documentation, multi-disciplinary team information, and tracking systems for Mental Health and Disabilities Services.
  • Work with staff and families to develop, implement, and review behavior plans.
  • Work with staff to develop, implement and review individualization for developmental and social-emotional concerns of children.
  • Provide reflective supervision to designated staff.
  • Train and assist staff in the documentation, implementation, and monitoring of the Mental health and Disabilities components.
  • Provide case management and support to service delivery staff.
  • Provide support, resource referrals to families and staff in the areas of mental health and disabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, child development, early childhood education, or related field with minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and their families.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Disability experience preferred.
  • Mental Health experience preferred.
  • Head Start experience preferred.
  • Possess a solid knowledge base with respect to child development and family services and seek to expand knowledge at every opportunity.
  • Exhibit initiative, flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team leader and a team member.
  • Must have Proficient Computer Skills. (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and MMCAA’s “Insurance Carriers” driving record review.
  • Successfully complete required background checks at time of hire and when requested.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with people.
  • Must be self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allocated time frames.
  • Must have the ability to telework with access to high speed internet/wifi.
  • Must be willing to accept new challenges.
