The Sr. Accounting Manager will manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including supervision of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and sales & use tax activities. Managing a superior accounting team of 5-7 direct reports, this leader will support, train, and equip team members for continued success and advancement.

Responsibilities
The Sr. Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the accounting team as well as maintaining the Norwex Culture, supporting processes and implementation of new processes and performance improvements.

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including review of financial statements prior to Controller's review. Collect and analyze financial data for both financial and operational projects.
  • Maintain and review multiple schedules and variance analysis to support the financial statements.
  • Forecast weekly and monthly cash requirements, and manage weekly disbursements cycles.
  • Interact with team members and management of other departments on a daily basis to assure efficient and timely transfer of shared data, including intercompany transfers and reconciliations.
  • Support Controller and fellow team members with financial and state tax audits. Assist with preparation of supporting documentation for all audits. Take lead on daily interactions with auditors during field work. Maintain supporting schedules for both federal and state tax return preparation.
  • Assist Controller to manage the financial activities for the Norwex Foundation For A Brighter Future. This includes maintaining accounting records, assisting with annual audit, interaction with tax preparers, and managing licensing/compliance activities with states.
  • Assist Controller and Sales Tax coordinator with unclaimed property management.
  • Support Controller and Sr. Manager - Reporting and Analysis with budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain and monitor internal controls, take corrective actions, and assure integrity of financials and supporting processes, systems and data.
  • Work with Controller to develop accurate and timely information to support executive management.
  • Take lead on a wide variety of special projects and ad hoc reports
  • Prepare and distribute reports to senior management over weekends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, and maintain a CPA license in good standing with the state of Texas.
  • Understanding of current GAAP
  • Experience in a mid-size to large company with a large distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to organize data for presentation purposes.
  • Strong computer skills, Excel skills, and the ability to use Outlook and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective communicator
  • Professional, kind and humble management style.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy, fast paced environment, working with an excellent team who is willing to jump in and do what needs to be done to be successful.
  • Willingness to work with a month-end and year-end close cycle that may, at times, include weekends.

The following qualifications are preferred and will make the most successful candidates stand out:

  • Direct Sales Industry experience
  • Understanding of cost accounting, avg. costing methods, and inventory management Experience with annual physical inventory counts
  • Experience working with sister and parent companies
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing agreements

This position is a hybrid role with the expectation of being in the Coppell, TX office two days a week, potentially more during the onboarding and month-end.
