WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: The Employment Specialist /Job Coach performs as an integral part of the management team working with adults with disabilities or mental health challenges. The Job Coaches primary duty is to secure community-based employment for individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges. The Job Coach may also provide evaluation and intensive training services in the community for the individuals served and supported as their caseloads permit. The job coach will be the primary contact for VR counselors for all individuals assigned. Creates connections with community employers to identify and create job opportunities for individuals receiving services. Develops resumes, prepares and accompanies individuals to job interviews, assists in filling out applications and questionnaires, and communicating the qualifications of individuals to employers. Communicates with each person assigned to the job developer caseload at least weekly and document that communication. Conducts the primary job development activities for the program. Maintains case records as required by licensing and funding bodies’ standards and regulations. Documentation must be entered into the electronic medical record system within 24 hours of service delivery. Coordinates communication with parents, case manager, and other agencies serving the individuals being supported. Maintains good work habits regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance, and effective working relationships with co-workers, VR and LME/MCO staff, employers, and individuals being supported. Provides job development and intensive training activities with individuals being supported according to their approved service, work/service plan, and work schedule. Accompanies individuals being supported to their community-based employment site to provide on-the-job training as needed. Analyzes job duties and tasks and completes a thorough job task analysis as needed. Assists individuals in mastering skills and meeting production standards as needed. Job Developers may be required to assist in performing individual’s job duties to maintain necessary production as well as model work behavior. Facilitates social interaction with coworkers and provides reinforcement as learning is demonstrated. Assists with the personal care needs of the individuals being supported such as toileting, dressing, eating, etc. as needed. Responds to the safety needs of the individuals being supported (i.e. choking, positioning, etc.) Keeps the Team Lead informed on all issues of importance. Attends appropriate work-related workshops, in-service training, and conferences. Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures, including Universal Precautions practices. Demonstrates Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment, and Caring as appropriate to the position. Completes required training within prescribed timeframes. Performs related duties as requested   Position Requirements YOU’RE A GREAT MATCH FOR OUR TEAM IF YOU HAVE: A High School diploma or equivalent appropriately accredited by the appropriate state department of education. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of the labor market and community services agencies, as well as skills in writing task analysis, systemic job training, counseling, advocacy, and supported employment, are preferred. Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record, and active insurance.
