Community Employment Trainer (CET) Part-Time

We currently have an immediate Part-Time opportunity for a Community Employment Trainer  (CET) to join our Raleigh Employment Services team. Flexible schedule varies depending on caseload.


The Community Employment Trainer (CET) performs as an integral part of the management team working with adults with disabilities. This position can be full-time, part-time, or periodic with primary duties to include providing direct care service and supports to individuals with disabilities in community-based employment. The CET will provide services and supports based on the need of the individual as designated in their service plan and funded by Innovations and/or LTVS. The CET will act as the primary contact with the employer and will complete monthly satisfaction surveys with the employer and individual.

  • Provide follow-along services for individuals that have completed an intensive training phase of job coaching.
  • Develop and implement quarterly reviews on Individual Service Plans for each individual assigned.
  • Provide a minimum of two job site visits to employers of individuals each month.
  • Conduct employer and individual satisfaction surveys every month for all employed individuals assigned.
  • Maintain case records as required by licensing and funding standards for NC MR/DD/SAS, Medicaid, etc. Documentation must be entered into the electronic medical record system within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Provide training and counseling interventions as needed to assist individuals to maintain community-based employment.
  • Facilitate social interaction with coworkers of individuals being supported and provides reinforcement as learning is demonstrated.
  • Assist with the personal care needs of the individuals being supported such as toileting, dressing, eating, etc. as needed.
  • Coordinate communication with parents/guardians, care coordinators, and other agencies serving the individuals being supported.
  • Maintain good work habits regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance, and effective working relationships with co-workers, employers, and individuals being supported.
  • Provide daily training interaction with individuals being supported according to their service plan and assigned work tasks.
  • Respond to the safety needs of the individuals being supported (i.e. choking, positioning, etc.)
  • Keep the Team Leader informed on all issues of importance.
  • Attend appropriate work-related workshops, in-service training, and conferences.
  • Complete required training within prescribed timeframes.
  • Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures, including Universal Precautions practices.
  • Demonstrate Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment, and Caring as appropriate to the position.
Position Requirements


  • High School diploma or equivalent appropriately accredited by the appropriate state department of education
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the labor market and community services agencies, as well as skills in writing task analysis, systemic job training, counseling, advocacy, and supported employment, are preferred.
  • Considered to be computer savvy with a strong ability to pick up program-related software quickly.
  • A valid North Carolina driver’s license, good driving record, and active insurance coverage required.
  • Must have reliable transportation that will allow movement throughout the program delivery area.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
