Description

Under the direction of the Lead Custodian the Magical Forest Custodian will be responsible for the daily and/or evening cleaning of the Magical Forest and Oakey Campus. Typical duties may include some or all of the following: dusting, mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, polishing furniture and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain the cleanliness of the Oakey Campus duties include:
    1. Moping, sweeping, pre-buffing floors, vacuuming rugs and carpets, cleaning windows.
    2. Scrubbing and cleaning restroom fixtures and keep restrooms supplied with towels, soap and other items.
    3. Dust and clean walls, door, windows, woodwork and other above floors surfaces.
    4. Polish furniture.
  2. Through proper cleaning, keeps walkways free of debris to ensure the safety of clients, staff and patrons.
  3. Set up and breakdown of chairs and table may be required.
  4. Reports any safety and/or security issue to Security Team
  5. Reports any broken items to Facilities Team.
  6. Provides customer service to patrons of the Magical Forest and Oakey Campus.
  7. Perform duties as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor and to execute excellent customer service.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in performing custodial duties.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Knowledge of custodial operations and building maintenance and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (work experience may be an equivalent).
  • Required: One (1) year verifiable work experience in custodial field.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outside in a theme park environment in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate stress.
  • Ability to conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
  • Ability to stand and walk 95% of the work time and sit 5%.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, to clean low and high areas.
