In this role you will:

  • Test, troubleshoot, modify, and repair power modules, boards, and electronic sub-assemblies
  • Perform complex technical functions in such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electromechanical components and systems
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions
  • Conduct complex engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work
  • Diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions
  • Assist in the development of electronic equipment
  • Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron
  • Repair or modify cable and equipment returned by operational users or by personnel in the associated test and development areas
  • Assemble experimental circuitry or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components
  • Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
  • Set up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model
  • Analyze and interpret test data
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary
 
Position Requirements

 

Essential requirements for this role:

  • 2 Year Electronic Degree or 5+ years of demonstrated relevant experience
  • Competency in repairing electronic circuit testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing at component level
  • Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings, etc.
  • Ability to support and provide technical feedback to the production assemblers
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools like soldering equipment
  • High-level organization skills
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach several times during the day
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds

 

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Ability to present technical data to engineering team
  • Ability to propose technical changes to product and processes
  • Ability to train production staff on assembly technique, i.e., crimping, soldering, etc.
