Share Email Opening Title Therapist - Youth - Sunflower House  Description Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Youth Therapist to join our PACES - South (Sunflower House) youth therapy team! The Therapist provides short-term therapeutic intervention, admission evaluations, and crisis interventions for Youth and will assist in other Outpatient functions. This position will require travel between various community sites, as needed. Essential Job Duties: Will provide specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate to training and experience. Will maintain caseload of clients/consumers in need of short-term treatment. Identifies strengths and needs of client/consumer and families and acts to involve them in planning for desired services. Familiarizes client/consumer with community resources for educational, cultural, recreational, and social activities. Works with other agencies to refer and secure adequate services. Will complete emergency intake assessments and provide therapeutic crisis interventions. Provides resource location/acquisition and resource coordination with area agencies. Will provide liaison duties to community agencies, as assigned. Performs other duties as deemed appropriate by immediate supervisor or designate. Complies with all relevant Center policies and procedures. Works with youth who have problematic sexual behavior.    Position Requirements Job Requirements Must be currently licensed in the state of Kansas. Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences. Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner with colleagues and representatives of other agencies. Familiar with mental health theory and practice. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and as needed for after hours to ensure adequate coverage. Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Prior to starting the position, you must receive clearance through Kansas Adult & Child Abuse/Neglect Register, criminal background check, and through and Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursable inquires.
