MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as a Insurance Validation Advocate. This position will be located in our regional office in The Woodlands, TX. The schedule for this Full Time role is Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

 

SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to review and validate/verify medical insurance to ensure the coverage is valid and belongs to the associated patient.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform insurance verification to ensure the insurance located belongs to the associated patient.
  • Call patients, guarantors, and payors as necessary to validate demographics and insurance coverage
  • Verify eligibility, member benefits, authorization requirements and billing address of each payor.
  • Review hospital system when necessary in an effort to collect information in the validation process
  • Update insurances in the Patient Accounting System with accurate insurance information and a detailed description of the validation process
  • Seek assistance from management when appropriate
  • Perform the standard number of validations per day on average
  • Closely communicate and coordinate with the client hospitals and onsite MedData staff with respect to their accounts
  • Respond to other tasks assigned by the department manager
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities.

  • High School diploma required.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Windows and Exchange email required.
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally, as well as to interact in a professional manner with colleagues, patients, public, and client’s staff members.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills a must
  • Ability to multi-task; excellent organizational and planning skills required.
