The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state. Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description Starting Pay up to $17.50 per hour (Base pay of $13 plus $4.50 Temp – “HERO” pay) Positions Available: •••• FT-7a-3:30p (40 hrs/wk) •••• PT-7am-7pm (12 hrs/wk everyother weekend ) ••••PT 2nd 5:00p-9:00p M-F (20 Hrs/wk) •••• PT-7:00p-7:a (12 hrs/wk, everyother weekend) •••• PRN (All Shifts) The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to adult individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have physical /or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. This position provides or assists with activities according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, grooming) mealtime and simple household tasks such as laundry, cleaning or bed making. In smaller settings, the DSP may prepare and serve meals and snacks. Some DSP’s give medications to the individuals. The Direct Support Professional also assists with teaching communication, recreation/leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. On occasions, the DSP transports/accompanies individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments. **Positions listed above are filled according to first-come, first-serve, are subject to availability, and may change without prior notice.   Position Requirements High School diploma or GED from an accredited school is required. Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. In most positions, a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the agency’s insurability standards is essential. Course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and behavior management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling.
