Based on your education, experience, and credentials Schedule: 7:30-9:30am and 2:30-4:30pm Monday- Friday What You Will be Doing The driver safely transports the people we serve to & from their homes to programs in Worthington/northwest Columbus. The driver ensures the vehicles is in good working order before & after use.   Position Requirements Primary Job Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the Transportation Coordinator immediately. Follow preplanned routes to ensure efficiency of travel. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios. Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport individuals with autism, behavioral health conditions, or developmental disabilities between schools, work and/or other activities. Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order following checklist before & after use. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Follow safety rules as individuals are boarding and exiting vehicle. Ensure everyone has exited the vehicle. Pick up and drop off individuals at regularly scheduled locations, following strict time schedules. Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. Keep vehicle interiors clean for passengers. Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures. Make minor repairs to vehicles. Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, etc. Complete training as required. Preferred Education/Experience Experience transporting individuals or small groups. Experience working with people with autism, behavioral health conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. Required Licensure/Certification Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance, insurable driving record (five points or fewer).  All candidates who have received an offer of employment will be required to undergo a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and health screen as applicable for the role.
