Responsible for identifying and assisting in solving HR related issues, ensuring these adhere to the organizations policies and objectives. Analyzes and evaluates data and reports, provides feedback on the findings to leadership and advises on changes and improvements. Serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. Acts as an employee champion and change agent. Assesses and anticipates human resources-related needs. Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the mission of the organization. Responsible for administration of all Blue employee benefits plans. This position also focuses on:

  • Handles employee relations, which includes the dissemination of policies and resolution of employee complaints and any other matter as delegated by the Human Resources Manager or Vice President of Human Resources. As needed, may assist with or conduct internal investigations. Supports effective performance management by coaching managers and supervisors with regards to the progressive discipline process and assists with service improvement plans and final written warnings.
  • Develops and administers employee benefits plans and makes recommendations to Executive Team for approval. Acts as the HR expert on benefit plans and works with employees on benefit related questions. Oversees employee benefits plans and ensures annual open enrollment meetings are properly conducted.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitor’s practices, and other sources. Creates reports and provides regular updates to the HR Manager, VP of Human Resources, and to the Executive Team.
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment and hiring practices, engagement, turnover, diversity, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Prepares reports/dashboard of data results, presents and explains findings to leadership and advises on changes or improvements.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in the human resources department to develop policies, programs, and solutions. Provides continuous feedback on the effectiveness of these programs at the department level and provides solutions for any improvement needed. Serves as the backup for the HR Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
 
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE: Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: A college degree. HR certification required (SHRM-CP or PHR) .

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance, using service skills at all times.

OTHER SKILLS: Business acumen, excellent communication skills, HR expertise and relationship management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 1O lbs. Must be capable of climbing/ descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/ requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

Compensation $45,402 - $68,104  
Bondability Employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
