IT Systems Administrator 

Description

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team. The candidate must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks. S/He will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company's technology infrastructure.

The Systems Administrator will design and oversee local area networks, wide area networks, storage networks, Cyber security posture, network segments, and virtual systems. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software, hardware and assisting with users' technical requests(helpdesk). The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, servers, email, laptop, network equipment and desktop PCs.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operation & maintenance of computer networks and equipment.
  • Assist users with technical issues via helpdesk.
  • Regularly monitors and troubleshoots issues with the network or unified communication systems.
  • Works with IT Team to implement projects.
  • Secures network; monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
  • Supports virtual environments (VMware 5.5+)
  • Support Storage area networks (SANs) and NAS systems.
  • Evaluates, tests, plans, and implements network solutions at the direction of CTO.
  • Responds to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
  • Manage backup system(s) (Veeam).
  • Travel to remote offices to complete projects.
  • Onboarding for new users(User set, equipment setup and training)
  • Manage Email infrastructure. (365 and Exchange Hybrid)
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades
  • Maintain and monitor network and system security
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues
  • Evaluate and modify system's performance
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
  • Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Detailed understanding of all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Detailed understanding of VMWARE ESXI 5.5+
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite 2016/365.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, detailed work, and project deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong and effective customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to our other office locations.
  • Effective strong team player.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Domain Controllers.
  • Detailed of Microsoft Exchange 2010 and up.
  • Understanding of WAN networks T-1, MPLS, Site to Site VPN, etc.
  • Thorough understanding VPN, Remote Desktop and Terminal Services.
  • Understanding of prevalent network protocols used in windows networking.
  • Thorough understanding of Cyber security.
  • Understanding of VOIP and analog phone systems.
  • Experience with Corporate IM systems such as Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate complex ideas, processes, and information.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a tenacity for resolution
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science-Related field OR equivalent experience
  • Veeam Backup and Replication Experience
  • Office 365 Administration
  • 7+ Years of experience in Systems/Network Administration
  • MCSE in Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Exchange
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory System (including but not limited to, DNS, DHCP, Cert services)
  • Thorough understanding of security best practices
  • Thorough understanding of Storage Area Networks
  • Advanced networking experience
  • Understanding of Cloud infrastructure
  • Thorough understanding of next gen firewalls and security appliances
  • Must be able to travel

Work Environment

  • Physical activities of job are within the normal expectations of an office environment where the amounts of standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and other movements are within the control of the incumbent.
  • Vision requirements are in the normal range, correctable with glasses or contacts, where color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception have no significant impact on job performance.
  • Working environment is generally within the confines of an office where normal climate conditions support effective job performance. Some daily travel may include limited time spent outside in the elements as part of the normal commute.
  • Risk of exposure to hazardous materials, electrical shock, explosives, radiation, vibration or airborne particles are at the extreme minimum. Protective clothing is usually not necessary to effective job performance or safety.
